In order to make the right choice of sunscreens, you need to determine your phototype. This is a classification based on the degree of skin sensitivity to ultraviolet radiation. Determining what phototype you have is simple: look in the mirror and check the descriptions below.

• I phototype (Celtic/Scandinavian). Light and thin skin, blond/red hair, blue/green eyes, freckles. The skin burns quickly and a tan does not form. You need products with a maximum SPF of 50+ and it’s still better to stay in the shade.
• II phototype (Nordic/light-skinned European). Light skin, light brown/brown hair, blue/green/gray eyes. Freckles are possible. Tanning is difficult to achieve, as it is easy to get sunburned in a short time. In the first week under the sun, you need a cream with SPF 50, later you can reduce it to SPF 30.
• III phototype (Central European). Slightly dark skin, no freckles, dark brown/brown hair, light brown eyes. People with this phototype can easily achieve an even tan; the main thing is not to sit too long in the sun, especially in the first days, as there is a risk of getting sunburned. It is acceptable to initially use products with SPF 30, then you can lower the index.
• IV phototype (Mediterranean/South European). Olive skinned, brown-haired and brunette with dark brown/black eyes. Under ultraviolet light, the skin practically does not burn; a tan forms quickly and lasts a long time. When exposed to the sun for a long time, protection of at least SPF 20 is required.

In addition to products that are applied immediately before going out into the sun, it is recommended to order products for use after sunbathing. Such creams, lotions and other preparations will help soothe, moisturize and nourish damaged skin.
